Feedback Unit 4

Hi Kaela and Heaven,
I thought your site was very good and I am glad that your group decided to touch on this very controversial topic of ADHD. I have experienced this first hand with both my children.  I was pleased to see that all four basic elements were addressed and labeled clearly from common conditions, conventional treatment, advantages, and disadvantages along with some elaboration of the side effects in the advantages and disadvantages sections.
All the basic elements were very well organized and clear for the readers to follow, and the information was easy to track if the reader decided to later further their research on this topic with the links you provided.
I did find a few grammatical and punctuation errors with some suggested corrections as followed:

  • Under the title  Common conditions in the first paragraph, associated could be changed to associated with
    • adhd changed to ADHD
    • Capital letters used for  adhd to ADHD
  • Under Advantages for Practitioners
    • Fourth row down in the second paragraph be began changed to begun
    • hands on changed to hands-on
  • Under Disadvantages for Practitioners
    • to changed to of
    • has changed to have
I did think the writing style was clear and the paragraphs had quality information pertaining to your specific topic. I appreciate all the required visuals that were included but in the video, "5 Common Side Effects", I thought it was leaning towards the pharmaceutical medications and adding more just to help with the side effects. Since this is a topic  I deal with on a daily with my child I would have liked to see a little more on how diet and nutrition along with the possible elimination of artificial colors and additives in food may help this issue. As a parent, I felt with how society is I should consider the medication route, but after doing my research I opted out of treating my sons ADHD with harmful meds that have both short and long-term side effects and added nutrition and supplementation to his diet and exercise which has helped him. I highly feel that diet now days play a huge role in this epidemic.
Your information is useful for health care providers in becoming more open to all suggestions and concerns that a parent may have when it comes to these highly addictive medications, because in most cases with proper dosage they help but can also be detrimental if not monitored correctly.
Thank you for sharing.
Erica
